Puncture Gang around the corner | How can Puncture Gangs be eliminated?

Have you found your car or bike tyre getting flat for some days?

Well, it can be the notorious Puncture Gang, that is working around.

You may have noticed that some days when you have kept your car in the parking or outside your society, your car seems to have a flat tyre in the morning. And these punctures are not normal punctures that are happening because of small nails just because there is a lot of construction going around you.

Let me explain why.

I own 3 vehicles at one of my homes in Hyderabad and have observed it that when you buy new vehicles, you can usually get along without the fear of tyre puncture for at least 2 years. Obviously, there can be some bad days, but most of the time, a new car may be able to avoid any major puncture for some years.

Having said that, I had recently bought a new vehicle, but in my old car, which is around 4 years, I saw there were 5 punctures in there on the left hand side tyres (both front and back), which I thought might be because the tyres have torn out, and I need to replace them soon.

But after a day, I observed that I have a puncture in my new (3 months old car), and the same on the left rare tyre. It was at this moment that I knew there was something fishy going around.

My doubt was deeper when I saw another person's tyre flat nearby my locality, and that one of the local puncture people who had been repairing my car for 2 days was taking that tyre to repair as well.

Now, it's not like I want to deliberately say that the local puncture shop is lurking around the streets of Hyderabad and puncturing tyres of cars, but maybe that is the case. This is because one of the nearby petrol pumps, which had all the facilities to repair flat tyres had some issue with their air pump for the last 2 days.

So, what is the moral of the story?
Well, there is nothing more that we can do to avoid this kind of flat tyres, which might be because of some Puncture Gang moving around.

But I have thought of some ways by which we can at least put a stop to the business of these puncture gangs;

  1. Have a car air pump handy: These pumps you can buy these on Amazon or through the car dealership for around 2k, which will help you to at least inflate your tyre in the morning unless you are able to reach a trusted tyre repair center. This will for sure hamper the business of these puncture gangs because they will not get the business.
  2. Call for Road Side Assistance: If you are on the outskirts of any city and not only Hyderabad, you can actually call Road Side Assistance, and most of the car companies will provide these services for a reasonable charge. Although it will be more than the local puncture gang, you will surely make it though for them to survive for long.
  3. Be cautious where you are parking your bikes or cars: It is always better to check the place and ask some security guard nearby to keep an eye on your vehicle. It's not about being too careful, but it is always better to be cautious than falling prey.
  4. Always go to a trusted tyre repair center: You may feel an urge to go to the nearest local tyre puncture person, but ensure that you have gone to someone trusted because the same person whom you are taking your car can be the culprit, and this is why they charge around more than 200 INR for each puncture and that too without checking the tyre from inside these days.

I think Police can also check if someone is throwing nails on road, and these people should be punished because it is not that they only puncture your vehicles. I had even come across an incidence, where these people have spread nails on road, because of which the car had to stop, as the tyre went flat, and then some thieves came and looted the family that was in the car.

This is really sad to see, and one feels so powerless when something like this happens to him or her.

It has become difficult to survive these days, but people around these cities have found new and innovative ways of looting common people. It is always better to take precautions beforehand, to avoid larger expenses down the line.

Have you faced any similar incidents with your car or bike? Feel free to share the same in the comments below, so that people can know about these issues, and take proper action.
