Better a days catch of fish than a lifetime of crabs

There was a recent video of an Eagle sitting on a rock in the middle of the ocean when it saw a crab climbing on that rock. As a natural instinct, the Eagle captured it with its beak, and this is where everything goes down with the Eagle.

As soon as the Eagle captured the Crab, it realized that the Crab was clinching the beak and the eyes of the Eagle.

Although the Eagle tried to save itself, it was too late, as it accidentally fell from the rock into the ocean and drowned. This is when I remembered the quote;

Better a day's catch of fish than a lifetime of crabs

The above quote is a powerful metaphor that speaks to the importance of focusing on our own goals and aspirations rather than getting caught up in negativity and criticism. The quote serves as an inspiring reminder that we should surround ourselves with individuals who uplift and motivate us, rather than those who bring us down and discourage us.

The metaphor compares crabs, which are known for pulling each other back into the ocean, to negative and unsupportive people who hinder progress and success. When one crab tries to climb out of the closed container, the others will pull it back in, preventing it from achieving its goal or getting free.

This behavior is a reflection of jealousy, insecurity, and a lack of faith in oneself and others

In contrast, fish represent individuals who are focused on their own goals and aspirations. They swim together in schools, but each fish is free to pursue its own path. Fishes are not hindered by the negativity and criticism of others because they are confident in their own abilities and focused on their own journey.

In our video's context, where the Eagle represented us all, the lesson learned was that we should not become Greedy and run after something that will Drown Us while we pursue it.

Usually, this happens when we put our guard down while pursuing things that we think are essential to us but in actuality, they are just our greed that needs to be kept in check.

On the other hand, the above quote also encourages us to prioritize our own goals and aspirations over the negativity and criticism of others. It reminds us that we should surround ourselves with individuals who uplift and motivate us, rather than those who bring us down.

To connect it with the situation of the Eagle; The Eagle should have focused on eating Fish (its Goal), and shouldn't have wasted its energy on the Crab (Negative People in Life). As the negative people are there to drown us by draining our energy.

This incident and quote highlight the importance of having a positive mindset, staying focused on our own goals, and avoiding toxic relationships.

In today's world, where negativity and criticism seem to be rampant, it is easy to get caught up in the crab mentality. We may find ourselves comparing to others, feeling envious or jealous, or criticizing others for their successes. However, this quote serves as a powerful reminder that we should focus on our own journey and not let the negativity of others hold us back.

In conclusion, the quote, "Better a day's catch of fish than a lifetime of crabs" is an inspiring reminder that we should prioritize our own goals and aspirations over the negativity and criticism of others.

As someone has rightly said,

kuch toh log kahenge, logo ka kaam hai kehna

Meaning: People will say things, it's their work - No Matter what you do

Therefore, we should not focus on the negative or toxic people in our life but focus on our goals which is more important to us. By adopting a positive mindset, staying focused on our own goals, and avoiding toxic relationships, we can achieve our dreams and live fulfilling lives.
