Safakadal

Safakadal is the second last bridge on river Jehlum in the old city of Srinagar, Jammu, and Kashmir.

Kadal means bridge in the Kashmiri language. Jehlum river flows under the bridge on which this place is named.

Ram Mandir at Safakadal in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir is famous among Kashmir Pandit Community. It was vandalized in 1990 and has remained as such. In January 2022 it was finalized that the building would be renovated.

Safakadal & Navakadal locality is famous for Rupa Bhavani Mata, as her origin is believed to be from that region.

Khankahisokta (Dedmar) is a famous mohalla, where the ancestors of the famous Dhar Clan originated from.

The famous mystic poetess of Kashmir Mata Rupa Bhavani was born in this mohalla and her temple is situated in this area, and that is why Safakadal is famous among Kashmiri Community.

The famous Eidgah of Srinagar city is also situated in the Sikdafar area of Safakadal.
