Kashmir has become equivalent to terrorism these days, but the irony is that it was termed Heaven on earth.

The beauty of Kashmir is not only fanned by the Himalayas surrounding the valley but also the flora and fauna of this beautiful valley.

These days also, not many people know the true story of Kashmir. We have been taught history that was false and kept important facts in History hidden, making every single citizen in India think Kashmir is not a part of India.

True Story of Kashmir
For centuries, people from across India and around the world used to come to Kashmir to seek knowledge.

Among the beautiful mountains of Himalaya, one Rishi named "Kashyap" came to seek knowledge, and after his name, this valley surrounded by Mountains was named Kashmir.

Then there was Shankracharya that came to Kashmir to gain knowledge and explore. Similarly, several people around the world came to this "Center of Knowledge".

Exploration of Medical Science, Astronomy, and many other streams started here.

What is Meditation?
Many will argue, rishis from around different places came to Kashmir for Meditation, but what is meditation all about?

It means research and exploration that helps in gaining real knowledge.

Why was Kashmir attacked?
People that came from around the world to conquer Kashmir, did that because they knew.

If you control knowledge, you can control the world.

The Kashmir Files
The Kashmir Files has really moved several souls around the world. The story of Kashmiri Pandits/Hindus that was hidden from people around India and across the world has now found a place.

This is such an irony, that people living in one of the World's Biggest Democracies are not allowed to speak the truth, just because one religion who they claim to be in minority will get offended.

Hindus across India and around the world are trolled for their beliefs and their way of living by some segments of people.

But the world kept watching when this genocide happened in Kashmir.

Kashmiri Pandits were targeted and killed every day. But there was no rally, no arrests, and no help to the victims.

Some more stories
Although The Kashmir Files covers several aspects of the genocide that happened in Kashmir, still several stories are obviously missed because of the format that was chosen.

It is really not possible to enact the same emotions and situations in a movie that have happened in reality, but still, this movie has covered the violence, torture, and trauma that Kashmiri Pandits have faced over the years.

Story 1:
In Kashmir, there is a common practice of buying roti (bread) from the market. People who make these bread are known as Kandur.

They have different kinds of bread like;

  • Lavas
  • Kulch
  • Katlam
  • Gird
  • Khatai
  • Roth
  • Tak-tach, and so on

There were several incidents where Kashmiri Pandits were killed during the morning time when one of the family members was out buying these breads for breakfast.

Story 2:
One incident included a person who had actually come back after the mass exodus in 1990.

Several people who tried coming back to Kashmir and taking their belongings were tracked down by terrorists and killed in their homes only.

Even the Neighbors of the Kashmiri Pandit family helped those terrorists in tracking down them when they came back to get their salaries from their offices and belongings to survive in Jammu.

Pain and Suffering is all that is left
Although life keeps going, the truth is that "Pain and Suffering" have become constant in the Kashmiri Pandit's life.

These were not so-called "Elites of the Society", but yes these were the most educated people in the valley.

They didn't have money and power. The only thing that they had was knowledge.

Currently, Kashmiri Pandit society is spread across the world. The majority is in Jammu. But now people from this society are constantly moving from Jammu to different parts of India for education and work.

Some are even overseas, and this is not because Kashmiri Pandits were having so much money, but because they had the knowledge and that they believed in learning as the only way to lead a happy and successful life.

When you are out of your home, you cannot adjust anywhere else.

Although writing a review of the tragedy of Kashmiri pandits is not justifiable, we should give credit to the team that has made this movie.

They have done fabulous work to share this story of present-day Kashmiri Society around the world and the dilemma that is caused because of false news spread by separatist groups.

Vivek Agnihotri has done great work to bring the pain of Kashmiri Hindus in front of the world, and this whole team deserves hats off to the determination of bringing facts as it is and not playing with the emotions of lakhs of people that were affected due to Islamic Terrorism.

Also, we should be thankful to the Government of India for being supportive of Hindus as in the past Hindu people were only trolled by some segments, and there was a phobia among Hindu people to speak about the truth or to expose wrong things done by people coming from different religious backgrounds and beliefs.

It is better to speak the truth and expose people butchering innocent lives even if they belong to certain religious beliefs.

Also, people should understand, if someone from your religion is doing wrong, they should not give them support. They shouldn't be ignorant of the fact that they are as much a criminal as the person committing a crime.
