Hoping against Hope

After the abgoration of article 370 and 35A, a majority of Kashmiri Pandits could foresee with hope and trust in their minds that  their agonies will cease to exist as it will be their cause that will be next on agenda of this dispensation, and we will get what we have been waiting for the last three decades. But nothing of sort happened for resolution of our woes as our socio-economic and Socio-cultural rehabilitation is like a mirage, which is never there, when we are about to reach our destination. We as a community have been waiting for these three decades and hoping that our community will get justice as and when the article 370 will be abrogated and next it will be our rehabilitation process which will be initiated. But alas, nothing of that kind happened and we are once again back to zero.

As a minuscule and minority community we are not a priority for any dispensation of the time, be it in the past or present. We are a community who can not raise their voice, as we are all a dispersed lot, and our voices here and there, do not reach to them, because we have not yet learned to jointly echo our voices. We are a resilient community no doubt, and there is no match for our resilience and hard work, as we all have individually worked and have resettled ourselves in every corner of India and aboard, that too without any help or economic incentive from anyone. We all managed everything and worked hard for our survival and more than that,  managed education of our children in those odd days. Majority of our educated children are today in every corner of India and also aboard working in major gaints of present day corporate world. They have excelled in their fields with specific knowledge of computers and information technology.

Now that we are once again standing on the same juncture, where we will be assured of mitigation of our miseries and some groups may also talk on the much discussed rehabilitation of our community members, may be our cause will find some place in their manifasto, it all depends on their accepting us as true nationalists or seeing us only as a depleted vote bank, because when we were in Valley our vote had price in two or three assembly constituencies, but that power is nowhere seen in those constituency, as it has altogether been diluted by vested interests in the valley. After the abgoration of article 370 and also reorganization of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, and carving of two UT's of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the scenario has changed and the valley is turning back to old golden days, with each day giving us a feeling that we may once again go to our old habitat, and live there once again, never the less, we have lost almost our three generations and our last generation is fending for cultural survival. The valley is slowly and steadily coming back to normalcy, because of the efforts of our present dispensation at the centre.

We as a community has always cherished any moments which were filled with some hope of our return or rehabilitation, as we always yearn for our motherland, which is a source of our community Socio-cultural and religious traditions, and our motherland for the last more than 5000 years.

Since, much water has flowed in Vitasta and almost three generations have been lost in these three decades, our community has still got hope and are hoping against hope, that their hopes will come true, which were kindled in our hearts in 2014 and 2019.
