Smile is such a beautiful way of expressing ourselves, and then also many of us consider smiling an involuntary thing that may happen to anyone of us.

Well, I understand that you shouldn't be forcing yourself to smile and that it should come from inside, but have you noticed, that this phenomenon is getting rare as time is evolving.

This is when one needs to understand that, the smile can be intentional and a conscious choice as well. This is something, that we all should practice on a day-to-day basis.

It appears that whether your smile is genuine or not, it can act on your body and mind in a variety of positive ways, which in turn, offers benefits to your health, mood, and even people around you.

Below are some of the amazing reasons, why you should smile;

1. Smiling helps in Boosting your Mood Instantly:
It's a matter of fact that you smile when you are happy. When it comes to smiling, the adage of "fake it until you make it" holds.

Only by acting to smile, your body boosts dopamine and serotonin levels. It also lowers stress and strengthens your immune system.

2. It's trademarked in humans:
Research has shown that when we try to remember people, we can only recall them smiling or sad. That means, the more you smile, the more people are going to remember you, as people want to be with other happy people.

Also, people tend to recall good things that they did with you or something that shows positivity.

This means, when you smile and meet people, they are going to remember the smile as one of the positive vibes that you have, and hence you will be recalled as one of the happiest people in the group.

This, in turn, will keep you motivated to be happy and keep smiling, which will also reduce wrinkles caused by tension, hence helping in making you look younger and beautiful.

3. It affects your facial structure:
Smiling can make you look much younger and beautiful. It can also help in altering the structure of your face.

This is because teeth do much more than chew your food. They also directly provide support to your cheeks and lips. If you are missing teeth, it can cause the skin and tissue around that area to change shape and become saggy, which will make you look much older than you are.

Keeping a beautiful smile can stimulate your skin and muscles on your face and hence these will be stretched and have strength, which will reduce the sign of aging.

4. Smiling helps you live longer:
This might be one of the most important reasons, why you should smile. Overall happy people seem to enjoy better health and longevity, though more research is needed to understand why is that.

Research does suggest that smiling and being happy could increase your lifespan by years.

Well, you don't even need research to understand this. If you smile and are happy, then you will land fewer troubles, and also you will find a solution to any trouble as such.

5. Smiling reduced blood pressure:
Smiling can have a significant impact on your blood pressure. Laughter and smile seem to reduce blood pressure, after causing an initial increase in heart rate and breathing.

6. Smiling makes you look successful:
Research shows that people who smile regularly appear more confident, and more likely to be promoted and are more likely to be approached.

Try putting a smile at meetings and business appointments. You might find that people react to you differently.
