            Alteryx is one of the Analytical tools used in the industry these days.

            I got to know about Alteryx from one of my friends who are settled in Australia. I tried exploring it here in India, and the first thing that I observed was that it is only available as a paid version.

            The free version has many limitations and the ETL work is not possible extensively on the free version.

            Having said that, in India, Alteryx is being used extensively these days. In Analytics Domain, we can see every 3rd job is about Alteryx. Several big companies like the Big4 are using Alteryx day in and day out, because client requirements include the same.

            Basically, Alteryx is being used to automate the data extraction and wrangling part. Then the data is fed to visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau.

            It is amazing because Alteryx workflows have to be developed once and then they can interact with the data on a timely basis and complete the extraction and wrangling of data itself. There is no human intervention required once the workflows are created and this reduces human errors.

            One of the important things to understand is that Alteryx is basically used for data extraction and wrangling, therefore visualization part is a bit limited although not impossible. This is because there is a lot to learn in Alteryx.

            Alteryx is a powerful tool and if you want to grow your career, you should for sure try to learn to work on Alteryx and to create workflows on Alteryx as well.

            As we are moving towards the AI revolution, several works can be done using Alteryx workflows and there are new opportunities that will come when you will start using Alteryx. Although Alteryx is being used extensively these days, still there is a very less skilled workforce that knows how to use it, which creates a lot of market requirements for new skilled employees in Alteryx.

            So, to conclude this, several companies that provide consultation services to foreign clients use Alteryx, especially in the Data Analytics section.

            Here are some facts about Alteryx;
            Alteryx is an American Computer software company based in Irvine, California, with a development center in Broomfield, Colorado. The company's products are used for data science and analytics. The software is designed to make advanced analytics accessible to any data worker.

            History
            SRC LLC, the predecessor to Alteryx, was founded in 1997 by Dean Stoecker, Olivia Duane Adams, and Ned Harding. SRC developed the first online data engine for delivering demographic-based mapping and reporting shortly after being founded. In 1998, SRC released Allocate, a data engine incorporating geographically organized US Census data that allows users to manipulate, analyze and map data. Solocast was developed in 1998, which was software that allowed customers to do customer segmentation analysis.

            In 2000, SRC LLC entered into a contract with the US Census Bureau that resulted in a modified version of its Allocate software being included on CD-ROMs of Census Data sold by the Bureau.

            In 2006, the software product Alteryx was released, which was a unified spatial and non-spatial data environment for building analytical processes and applications.

            In 2010, SRC LLC changed its name to that of its core product, Alteryx.

            In 2011, Alteryx raised $6 million in venture funding from the Palo Alto investment arm of SAP AG, SAP Ventures. In 2013, Alteryx raised $12 million from SAP Ventures and Toba Capital. In 2014, the company raised $60 million in Round B funding from Insight Venture Partners, Sapphire Ventures (formerly SAP Ventures), and Toba Capital, and announced plans for a 30% workforce expansion.
