Employee engagement in HR

In an organization, Human resource plays a vital role in terms of culture and development of the organization. It is one of the most important factors of an organization. It is engaged with all essential elements such as pay, performance, training and development, reinforcement of values and culture of the organization. 

Human Resource management is to look up the employee's engagement towards their work to produce an effective result to the organization which leads to its development and attainment of goals.

Employee Engagement:

Employee engagement is used to measure the commitment, loyalty, and attachment of employees towards their work. Generally, employee engagement can ascertain with its three components listed below:

  1. Attitude towards work
  2. Behavior towards the seniors as well as their colleagues. 
  3. The outcome of their work.

Engagement of employees towards their work helps the organization to achieve their goals as such it is believed that if the employees have an emotional attachment with their work, they remain loyal and perform best to their abilities to endeavor the effective output. Engagement of employees to their respective fields is required for the organization as well as the employee too. From an organizational point of view, it is simply estimated about the likes and loyalty of the employees towards their work which is helpful for organization to make them work to their best of their capabilities by providing effective training and appraisal such as increment and promotions to attain the objective of the organization. From the employee's point of view, it is helpful to estimate their capabilities as per their interest in their respective field. And keep on enhancing to have better opportunities and better recognition in the working field.

Engagement of employees towards their work is mainly ascertained by the Hr. It is an important feature that an Hr must look at while managing the human resource. Let's see employee engagement in HR.

The HR department works on all aspects of employees. It works on various functions associated with it i.e. from recruitment to selecting the best candidate, hiring to training, and looking towards payroll to extra benefits to the employees. Apart from all these, HR must prioritize employee retention and their interest in respective to their work field. HR must initiate the employee towards their field and engage them to provide the best of their capabilities. Some listed steps HR must take towards employees engagement are:

Employee interaction - In every organization, interaction with the employee should be a must. The employee must be provided with the platform to interact with their supervisor or the management. These processes avoid communication gaps and allow the employee to be more efficient in work with proper flow communication. 

Recognition - Each person works for their own needs and satisfaction, apart from that every person wants to have a separate recognition where they work. HR needs to identify the person's capabilities and give the person authority and responsibility to increase the morale and satisfy his want recognition in the organization.

Training - A very important factor that HR must look over the employee's engagement is to provide training. HR must identify one's capabilities and provide training associated with to acknowledge the employee with the full working procedure. It would help the employee to work in a fledged manner as well help them to work with an interest in their respective field.

Performance Appraisal - HR must look over the employee's performance and appraise it by giving monetary (increment, bonus, promotion) or non-monetary benefit ( offering leadership position, best employee certificate, etc).

Increase morale - With continuous working hours, employees might demoralize and unproductive. To maintain their interest or increase their morale they should be given new opportunities new to work such as handling the project as per the leader. This would also help one to enhance and learn new qualities associated with it. 

Friendly environment - In the modern era, employees tend to get bore in the traditional work environment. HR must look over the friendly environment as well as look over to provide digitalization in the environment.

Creative and innovative - HR must enhance the employee to be creative and innovative by asking them to contribute their ideas and thoughts in respective projects. 

With better performance of HR in terms of employees might lead to an effective engagement towards their work and result to achieve the objective of the organization.
