Why do banks exploit us? | How do banks exploit us? | How and Why do banks exploit their clients? | Is there a monopoly in financial market?

Banks worldwide have gained giant monopolies these days, and because of this, they have started exploiting their clients.

Have you ever encountered a savings account that charges you a penalty for not keeping a minimum amount of money in your bank account?

Have you ever seen, a negative balance in your bank account?

Has any bank ever denied a loan because you didn't have 2 years of Form 16, even though they know that for the past 2 years nothing was permanent, not even jobs?

If your answer is yes to any of the above questions, welcome to the exploited lot of people.

Banks and people working in banks think of themselves as a God or God figure, who can do whatever they want and obviously, the clients cannot do anything, and this is just because money is the master.

Scenario 1: Your salary account is only in the bank that your company wants:
This is a clear scenario, where banks have tie-ups with corporates, and hence employees of that company have to open their salary accounts in listed banks only.

Because all the agents there have monetary benefits, and hence we cannot say anything, we have to agree to what they say, and where ever they want us to open our salary accounts.

And once you leave the organization, or the organization only becomes bankrupt, you have to wait for the final settlement to come into your account, and for that, you will have to keep your account active. This active account will have a charge as well because you are unemployed, and you cannot keep your minimum balance in your account, therefore these big banks who begged you at the start of your employment, will start deducting money every month, and will not stop even after your account is negatively charged.

Many of us face these issues, but still, we are not able to stand against these practices. How can banks charge negatively to an unemployed person? They can just close the account when the money from or their account is over.

Also, is it even ethical?

I want to take the names of big banks from several different nations that follow this practice, but I cannot because we cannot raise our voices in this world. Maybe only on the Dark Web, we can do that, but on the normal internet, we have to behave civilized, and if we got names of big companies in scandals like these, then they will sue us for defamation.

But I know they all will know that I am pointing them, and they should try and be a bit generous, because they have been doing it for a long, and now the time has come when we should take charge of our finances.

Scenario 2: Banks won't give you a loan without 2 years of documentation, even knowing the past 2 years were a pandemic or knowing that you are a fresher:
Banks, and not only private banks, but government banks also play like this. First, they will show you a low rate of interest, and then they will ask for tax documents for 2 years without a gap.

Well, I should tell you guys that you are two-faced people, as you are comfortable giving loans to defaulters, and can't give a loan to someone who has never missed an EMI.

Also, for 2 years everyone was dealing with a pandemic, how is one supposed to have a full-time job and also tax receipts for two years, when he or she was not even earning a salary for more than 6 months.

There are going to be gaps, and still, they want us to show tax receipts. This is because people who are doing this know that the person will not be able to do that, and in several countries, these stupid people think that someone who has come to take a loan is poor and doesn't have money to pay for anything.

They treat their clients as illiterate and also try to exploit them whenever and wherever possible.

Scenario 3: Charging higher interest rates:
Banks are so dumb and stupid, that they charge high-interest rates to genuine people.

Although loan agents have enough options to give loans at half the interest rates, they also don't give loans at less interest rates. They will let the client go, but they will not give him or her a lesser interest rate.

Why am I talking about these scenarios?
It is to note that banks these days have become king of the market, and hence they think they can do anything to their clients or customers.

People working in banks are not polite at all, and they don't know how to speak. They get aggressive easily, and also don't have any educational background.

They are the worst people to deal with because they are an uneducated part of the world, who think that other people or nonbankers are illiterate. They have a mindset that people who come to banks are poor and clueless about what to do.

They treat their clients or customers as a roadblock to their rest or lunchtime.

How are these stupid people selected to work in banks?
They are selected based on a test that doesn't even qualify as a test, and they don't undergo any training as well.

They don't have induction about how they should talk to elders or the person who is there asking for their help. Well, they are not even trained to operate their systems, and hence every single time I visit banks, some people are asking for a system or server breakdown.

What can we do about it?
This is a tricky thing to ask because banks have turned out to be a villain these days. Bankers think of themselves as Gods, and hence they want their clients to worship them.

One thing we can do is we can go for not save anything in banks, but then also we cannot do it because then the government will ask us to clarify the cash stash in our house. And you know what you can't even say that you have taken out every single penny from your salary account. They will not trust you.

I was thinking that cryptocurrencies are the best to trade and store funds, but the government has put taxes on cryptos as well, which is sad to know because it was one thing that made banks afraid.

Advice to banks
Well, there is one piece of advice to banks, be polite to your clients, or else you will soon be away from the business.

Advise clients or customers
We will have to be together about which banks are good, and which are not. We will have to stand together and stash our savings in one or two banks for some time so that the big banks get out of business if the need arises and if they become impolite.

They should get a revenue hit. Take a name, any bank which is not providing you services and which is behaving badly to you, close your accounts from that bank and also ask your family and friends to do so, and request them to convey the same to their friends as well.

This way the supply of money to the bank will get depleted and they will be out of the market soon.

Why this much hatred?
All the scenarios above were from people who are normally living their lives, and there are many such situations in which banks have exploited their clients.

The main motive of this article is not to create hatred, but to show the real face of bankers and employees working in banks.

Who gives them the right to talk trashy to some elder person, who is unable to understand the complexities of the banking system. Also, who gives them the right to wag their tail in front of rich people and exploit their clients.

Conclusion:
Banks are a crucial part of any society, but there should be one important thing, which is missing these days, and that is the trust part.

Banks have made it difficult to keep trust in financial institutions, as they have let us down several times. Sometimes with loans that are not paid back to banks by rich people, and sometimes by their trashy language at the branches.

I feel sad to see people not able to get their money out of bank accounts. I have seen people struggling because their application had sent money twice to the retailer, and now that shopkeeper or vendor doesn't give it back to them.

I have seen people compromising even when their rent amount was transferred to some other person, and banks won't help in getting back the amount even when they can do it because they just don't want to do it.

In the end, we all have to use banks, but I still pray to God that please do two things with us;

  1. Give us that much amount of money that even if we lost some, we don't feel bad, or
  2. Get these banks out of business, if they don't change their behaviors.

We should not curse anyone for their jobs, but I want to pray today to make all bankers jobless so that they can feel the stress of finding a job.
