How did we celebrated Christmas in 2021? | Christmas Celebration 2021

As Christmas is at the doorstep, several organizations have already planned a week-wide program for Christmas Celebrations.

There are several different ways by which companies celebrate Christmas, some of which are listed below. I will be sharing, how my organization celebrated Christmas at the end of this article.

  1. Companies may give different gifts to their employees physically. This is usually done by HRs or the Employee Engagement Teams, by dressing up as Santa, and then they go to every employee and share their gifts.
  2. Some organizations have also sent gifts to their employee's homes, as pandemic has made it difficult to give gifts physically.
  3. Some companies also share memories of the past year to celebrate one year of togetherness.

What had our organization done to celebrate Christmas in 2021?
Well, our company has spread Christmas Celebrations to a week-long program. This is amazing because people seem more active in the last week, and we have something to look forward to this week.

Although the pandemic is there and everyone is working from home. I must say our HR Team has done a brilliant job in engaging people around the world.

So, there are 3 levels on which this Christmas Celebration is going on;

  1. Team Level (Local Team)
  2. Group Level (Employees might be from one country)
  3. Organization Level (Employees from all over the world join this Christmas Celebration)

This is amazing because we had Team Level Christmas Celebration first.

In this Christmas Celebration, we were given a task to secretly leave a gift on our colleague's table, without him knowing that we have given them this gift.

So, we were given names, and other people were also given names and we all were required to leave a small gift or poem or story on our colleague's table.

This was awesome because we all are working in a Hybrid model, so that means not everyone is coming to the office every day. Therefore, when the colleague comes to the office the next day, they can see a thoughtful gift on their table, which they don't know who has kept.

So it becomes a beautiful surprise for them, and obviously for all of us.

Then comes the Group Level Christmas Celebration.

In this Christmas Celebration, the HR Team had asked about our skills and we were required to perform in front of our colleagues, which worked as an ice breaker.

For example, I was asked to introduce myself and was asked to sing a song. Although I was not so good at singing, the point was to make someone smile.

So we were also asked to share some jokes, which was fabulous, and everyone liked the time pass that we were doing at our workplace, and also people who were at home.

Then came the Organization Level Christmas Celebration.

Well, this is the biggest one, and there are several games, quizzes, etc planned for us all, and we all are excited for the same.

Also, this will be on the 24th i.e., on Christmas Eve.

Conclusion;
Although organizations don't have the policy to celebrate festivals, sparing one hour from the productive day of employees, actually encourages employees in your organization to connect, because of which they can give their 200%.

So small and random gestures of engagement motivate employees to work hard for the organization.

Also, when people come and join these events, they actually get time to work on themselves by putting on some makeup and wearing nice dresses, which again boosts their confidence.

I would suggest all the HRs and other Employee Engagement Teams come forward and think about innovative ideas to engage people working from home, and I bet that you all will be able to see the jump in employee performance.

Thanks to you all for reading this article,

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
