Piercing means getting a hole into your skin, to put some metal or plastic material to beautify our bodies.

It is something that we have observed for several years now. In ancient times, people used to pierce their ears to add bone ornaments. Some cultures also depicted piercing of eyebrows and septum, which is famous among punk rock stars these days.

Will my piercing leave a scar?
Piercing is actually putting a hone on your skin, which means that you have to actually get a scar to do so.

But it also depends on several things, which we will discuss below;

  1. Piercing can close, if left unaccompanied: Piercings can close, for example, I had one piercing on my left ear, which I left unattended and never used any ornament in my ear.
    Today, when I checked it, it is closed now, and there is not even a single scar, and no one can tell if I had an ear piercing.
    Although, if you will come closer and see targeted on the back of my ear, you will definitely find a small dot which is not the case when you are in public. Therefore, one can say, it depends on how well were you pierced also has a say in scarring. Always go for a good salon or tattoo artist, which has good reviews, to get the best piercing.
  2. Scarring depends on which body part are you getting pierced: Piercing may also cause scarring depending upon the area of the piercing. This is because your skin might be different on the face and its texture will be different on your belly.
  3. Scarring depends on the quality of the tattoo artist or salon, where you decide to get pierced: Scarring also depends if you have gone to a quality piercer or not. This is because the piercing is an art, which requires the piercer or tattoo artist to have good skills in piercing.
    His/Her hands should be steady, and they should have good experience of piercing. The more experience they have, there are fewer chances of you getting a bad scar.
  4. Are you going to remove your piercing early, may also affect: If you got your piercing in a hurry, and you have decided to take it off, try to do it under the guidance of a doctor.
    This is because, when you remove your piercing, puss or some other infection might affect the pierced area, and the infection can get trapped inside the skin, which can further lead to scarring of the skin tissue.
  5. Poor Maintenance: Poor Maintenance of a pierced surface is again a real factor for bad scars.
    You should treat your piercings carefully, and should not overhandle your piercing.
    Take the medicines, and oils or spirit, whatever your tattoo artist suggested, and use it only once or twice a day, not more than that. This is because your piercing can irritate your skin, hence turning into a scar.

Conclusion:
Piercing in itself is creating a scar, but it also depends on you to take care of it to ensure that you don't make scarring worse.

Your piercing will be unnoticeable, if you havegot one from someone really trained in piercing, or it can also turn into a nightmare if done otherwise, without any hygenic precautions.
