They say when you look good you feel good. But since the start of the covid-19 pandemic, last year usual beauty routines have changed dramatically.

To be honest I haven't washed my hair since Sunday and this change is impacting the beauty industry. Cosmetic sales have dropped as consumer demands have shifted and hygiene products are experiencing spiked levels prompting companies like L’Oréal to produce hand sanitizers. Also, skin care products surpassed makeup sales for the first time, emphasizing a renewed appreciation for natural beauty.

How are celebrities embracing this change?
Even celebrities like Lady Gaga, Salma Hayek, and Gabrielle embracing it showing off bare faces and natural curls. The New York Times reports that analysts see the potential for a lipstick effect in which people unable to buy big-ticket items indulge in smaller luxuries.

What's happening with Salons around the world?
With salons and spas opening again many are adopting new safety protocols such as limiting occupancy, double sanitation of equipment, and requiring technicians to wear face-masks and face shields.

There are changes some customers are willing to accept to look and feel their best. But here are important things that you need to know before you head out for a little pampering.

Every state is different when it comes to the rules and protocol set, so what should you do before you schedule a beauty treatment is check your individual state and local listings as they are constantly changing too.

Therefore, what you read yesterday might not be the case for today, and that is the number one thing that you can do to keep yourself safe.

Okay so let's start with retail how are stores changing and adapting and during this pandemic
Everyone definitely knows that we're all used to going into our favorite beauty store maybe swiping a lipstick, or testing a foundation to see if it works with our skin tone, etc. That is simply just not the case anymore. Stores are really trying to limit the spread of germs. I spoke with some of the beauty stores they were telling me that though they will have testers available, they will not be for the use and will just be there to kind of show you what the lipstick looks like.

So this article actually is an alternative to testing things physically they actually have an app where you can go on and test thousands of different beauty products from lipsticks shades to foundations. For Example, I might be sitting in my bed at home with no makeup on putting on a full face of makeup digitally so this is a fun new way that you can actually try makeup and try different eyeshadows.

There are so many products and it's very fun as it sorts of feels like the future of testing beauty products for now. We even talked with salons and barbershops people getting their hair cut about what should you look out for what's the right way to do it.

So definitely the number one thing they tell everyone is to make sure that your salon has the co-founded barber certification. This is a free course that salons and hair stylists can actually go, they just do it online and it is a simple way to make sure that they are following all of the up-to-date safety protocols so salons that have it usually will display it at the front, and if not, you can ask your salon to do it for themselves and of course, things are constantly changing; Salons were open and now they're closed again.

Now there are open-air salons so we heard in several parts of the world that you can actually go get a haircut but you can't get a color and you can't do chemical treatments.

Just make sure again I cannot stress enough that you are checking your state and local regulations to get the most up-to-date information.

Thank you so much, we appreciate you for reading this article.
