Natural Remedies For Oily Skin

Aw! oily skin? Too much oil on the face putting you in trouble? It also causes pimples, acne, whiteheads, and blackheads. And your face looks dull and flawed. Simple and effective remedies ingredients are available in your kitchen, you don't need to see a dermatologist. Natural remedies can work on it and remove excess oil from your face, and they also give you clear and glowing skin.

Oily skin happens due to the overproduction of sebum from sebaceous glands. These glands sit under the skin’s surface. Sebum is an oily component made from fat. Sebum isn't all bad because it helps to protect your skin as well as provides moisture to your skin, and keeps your hair shiny and healthy. It also makes a smooth layer on the skin surface.

 Too much sebum, however, can cause oily skin, which can lead to clogged pores and acne. Genetics, hormone changes, or even stress can increase sebum production. 

Oily skin or acne may be challenging, still, home remedies help to reduce the symptoms without following an expensive skincare regime.

Egg whites
Egg whites are an effective remedy for oily skin. It contains a high vitamin A, egg whites can help to dry out blemishes, as well as tone and tightens oily skin. But make sure you don't have an egg allergy, if you have, in that case, you avoid it.

How to make it:

  • Whip one egg white until stiff
  • Spread on your skin
  • Allow drying
  • Wash your face with warm water
  • You can also make egg white and lemon mixed face masks, both are natural ingredients.
  • Yogurt
  • Yogurt contains a lactic acid that works gently to exfoliate the skin and absorb excess oil.

How to make it:

  • Apply 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt to your face
  • Leave it for 15 minutes
  • wash with cool water

Honey
Honey is one of the most adored natural remedies for the skin. It has antibacterial and antiseptic abilities, it can benefit oily and acne-prone skin. Honey is also a natural humectant, so it keeps the skin moist but not oily. This is because humectants pick moisture from the skin without replacing it.

How to make it:

  • Spread a thin layer on your face
  • Let it dry for about 10 minutes
  •  Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Oatmeal
Oatmeal soothes inflamed skin and absorbs excess oil. It exfoliates dead skin. When you use it as a facial mask, oatmeal is usually ground. You can combine it with yogurt, honey, or mashed fruit such as bananas, apples, or papaya.

How to make it:

  • Mix 1/2 cup ground oats with hot water to form a paste
  • Stir in 1 tablespoon honey
  • Massage oatmeal for 3 minutes
  • Ringe with warm water and pat to dry

Almonds
Ground almonds not only act to exfoliate your skin, but they also help absorb excess oils and impurities. You can use it as a natural scrub.

How to make it:

  • Finely grind raw almonds to make 3 teaspoons
  • Add 2 tablespoons of raw honey
  • Use it to your face gently, in circular motions
  • Rinse with warm water, and pat dry
  • You can also make an almond face mask by grinding almonds into a paste before adding honey and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Ringe with warm water after that and pat to dry.

Lemon Juice
Lemon juice instantly lightens up your complexion; its citric acid also acts as an astringent, helping to tone and control oily skin. 

How to make it:

  • Use a mixture of 1 teaspoon lemon juice and ½ teaspoon distilled water to your skin with a cotton ball
  • Leave on for 10 minutes
  • Rinse with warm water
