The journey of becoming a mother is full of joy and happiness. Meanwhile, it is not an easy process. A woman goes through a lot of emotional and physical changes. Your health including skin and hair gets affected during pregnancy and after delivery. You need special care for every aspect of your health. Generally, the woman ignores their health and care after becoming a mom because they take care of their babies and their whole attention towards newborns. But your baby and your health are equally important. So, make sure to regain your overall strength and take care of your skin and hair along with the greatest joy of motherhood.

However, some damages are irreversible, also, your hormonal levels will take time to get back to normal. The below changes you can get in the post-pregnancy:

  • Hair fall

  • Stretch marks
  • Lackluster hair
  • Pigmentation all over the body

This is the right time to pamper your skin and achieve the flawless happy mother glow. if you don't have much time you can start with simple steps:

  • You should be aware that your skin and hair changes are temporary and will be normal in a few months.
  • Take out some time for yourself and take the help of your other family member for taking care of your baby during the day. Use that time to be relaxed, do a face massage or foot massage, meditate or do breathing exercise and get a good sleep.

Some simple home remedies to heal your skin and hair damage:

For Skin:

  • Breast milk for skin: Freeze your breast milk in an ice cube tray and rub milk cubes on your face, neck, and upper chest gently until the cube dissolves. Wash your face with lukewarm water. This will make your face soft like a baby.
  • Milk powder pack: Prepare a thick paste of milk powder with a few drops of honey, a pinch of cinnamon powder, and some rose water and apply it not on your face and neck. Don't scrub, wash your face after 10 minutes. You'll see a major change in your face.
  • Oats and honey mask: Make a simple mask of oat and honey by mixing and use as a face mask. This will rejuvenate your skin instantly and also reduce inflammation of your skin.
  • Olive oil massage: Massage your belly and breast with olive oil or sandalwood to minimize the stretch marks.
  • Yogurt face scrub: Apply some fresh yogurt on your skin and leave it for 3 minutes. Wash with lukewarm water.

For Hair:

  • Aloe vera hair mask: Mix 4-5 tablespoons of aloe vera gel with 2 tablespoons castor oil and 1 tablespoon of glycerine and apply from scalp to tip, leave it for 1 hour, and shampoo normally. This will add strength and shine to your hair.
  • Fenugreek mask: Soak some fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Grind them into a paste and apply them to your hair. Wash it normally. It will help in growth and also soothe the scalp.
  • Curry leaves and coconut oil: Boil some curry leaves in coconut oil and let it cool and then use it on your hair. Leave it 2-3 hours before shampooing.
  • Egg Mask: Egg is rich in protein and also good for hair spa. You can apply an egg mask over your hair and scalp by mixing coconut or olive oil. leave for 1/2 hour and then shampoo normally.
