Gone were the days when learning involves physical interactions among teachers and students. Studying in online classes has become the new norm in today’s education, where teachers and students interact digitally on-screen via online platforms. Though taking classes would not always be needed in the involvement of effective learning. It is more or less dependent upon the quality of classes and engagement between a teacher and student.
Effective learning suggests that the learner is active and strategic, and grow with others would be their first and foremost philosophy. It is when competition is healthy, and learners would focus on their development, not on others’ skills. Though online is comparatively better than classroom learning in various aspects, it has to have provided effective learning as well to our children.
Now let’s see in what aspects online classes is far better than classroom-based ones;
But as said everything which seems positive, has the negative point of views as well. Let’s look into that one by one;
So here we know what such problems are we facing in the case of taking online learning. So now what? Can we do something about that? As a teacher, you can’t overcome all the problems, but yes, by applying simple tricks and techniques, you are able to solve student’s problems.
This is the essential part of improving the online learning experience in students. When you not only focusing on the syllabus but also interact with students at their individual level, then there is a chance that students even not feel that they are not in their respective class.
This would be not easy, though, as you have many students to teach at one time. To solve this problem, you can divide your batch into 2 or 3 groups according to the number of students. In this way, you interact with each student effectively.
Asking questions in between your classes would be one of the ways of active learning where you help the students not to get distracted. Distractions will be easy nowadays as they are studying at their home.
In this way, you will be able to deal with the problem of communication among students.
It’s not just that you need to finish your curriculum, and then your job is done. It’s not like classroom learning, where you have to take 30 or 45 minutes of class. It’s an online one where you should use various different methods to teach students like online quizzes, extras practice work from google, pdf of test papers from previous years, etc.
It will not only provide effective learning to students but also share some different perspectives towards education.
Remember this you are not only teaching children but also helping them in solving any problem they face, even if it is related to using technological equipment. Or helping those to aware of different social platforms and make them trained in using those platforms.
If you have 45 minutes of class to take, then it is much advisable that you divide that duration into different time slots. Like you can begin with asking questions to your students about previous class and end with asking them whether they have any query or not. In this way, it will be easier for them to grasp all the information that is provided in class.
Both online and offline have their advantages and disadvantages. The most important thing is how you are changing with your learning process. As time is changing, technological advancements are creating a new world for us, and it is time that we should be changing in the way we teach to our children. Adapting would be one of the skills that you should learn and also raise your children like they can adjust in any situation without any suffering.
It doesn’t matter whether you go for online or offline learning methods; what matters the most is whether you are giving your children effective learning or not. Whether you are creating a healthy environment for your children or not in which they can identify themselves apart from the competition. Do you agree with me?
