We all start somewhere in life when we want to become like big organizations like Google, Facebook, Linked In, or Instagram. We all have big dreams and we want to actually experience how it feels to be on top of all the competition that we have. This is something that is dreamt of by everyone living in this world. 

Many times, we forget the fact that all those organizations have actually matured enough to reap all the benefits that they are getting right now. Although they all started as start-ups there was no term as "startup" when they emerged. It was all about creating a business and not just trying to work on some backyard project. There was a time when people used to put in efforts because they actually believed in the project and at that time people used to put in efforts to ensure that they succeed.

How Businesses are like Butterflies?
Businesses like Butterflies have a time when they are like ugly caterpillars. They want to survive and want to ensure that they reach a point when everyone else is going to admire them. 

This can happen when they will become a butterfly. 

But what happens during the time when startups are still young in the caterpillar stage?
Nothing, they just try to survive. They need time to eat up large chunks of funds and also want to delegate tasks to a large number of wrongly hired people working with them. There is a stage when no one wants to be associated with that thing that struggles to even walk, let alone all the running part.

One needs to understand that this is the start of something big. This particular stage in any startup is a time when one cannot predict if it is going to turn out in some butterfly or not, but all one can have is hope and dedication to work hard and give your best.

How we shouldn't think of our Businesses as Startups?

The issue with your startup is that it is still a startup.

When you consider your business as a startup, you already have a backup plan in your mind. You are already ready to not give your best in whatever you are pursuing. This is something that we should actually understand. 

Whenever we think about creating a business, we should be more focused on what we want to do with it. There should be a proper vision and mission of the organization that we are working on and that where we want to reach. 

It's totally fine to be confused at this point because creating a business is like trying to find a destination while already on a journey. You need to enjoy your journey or else you are going to be in real trouble. Try and understand what is happening all around you and how you can tackle your situations on a day-to-day basis rather than trying to figure out how to leave when it doesn't work.

You will have to understand that when you are going through your life, you will have to make some maneuvers here and there or when you are driving a car you will have to steer through several potholes, similarly, when you are starting a business you have to see ups and downs and also you will have to look for several difficulties. There will be some mistakes that you will make and people are going to hate you. But you will have to be motivated to do through that path on a day-to-day basis, without losing hope. Then only you will become a default in your domain like other big enterprises.
