Sunburn is an inflammation caused by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. UVA and UVB are the ultraviolet rays that can damage your skin. Suntan when it occurs your skin becomes red, swollen, and painful. it can be mild to severe. Also, the extent depends on your skin type and the amount of sun exposure. But don't take sunburn lightly, try treatment and prevention along with some home remedies. Sunburn may be a serious risk factor for skin cancer.

Overexposure to the sun leads to the progression of melanin on the upper layer of your skin that results in tanned skin and pigmentation. Severe sunburn can destroy your DNA.

The common signs and symptoms of sunburn include:

  • Frequent itching, irritation, and sensation

  • Bath with cold water

  • Drink plenty of water
  • Apply sunscreen on a regular basis and frequent use if you have sun exposure for a long time
  • Sit in locations with shade
  • Wear hat and sunglass
  • Take anti-inflammatory medicines
  • Avoid going out in the hottest part of the day
  • Use home remedies such as orange peel paste on the affected area
  • Consult a good dermatologist
