While searching online for smart rings, most of the time I found videos that were created by influencers for profit-making making where they were just telling about the pros of owning a smart ring. They were not able to explain why a smart ring can be better than a fitness band or a smart watch.

I was a smartwatch user

As a regular smart watch user, I have tried several smart watches, such as Samsung, Boat, and even Fastrack, and one thing was common for all, which always helped me, and that was the notifications that I was able to access on the go.

I don't have to access my phone while traveling or if I am busy doing something, which made my work a bit easier, but little did I know that it was adding more stress to my daily life than making things easier.

After getting the smart ring

I bought the cheapest smart ring on the market, and that was the Boat Smart Ring that I got from Amazon yesterday.

Although I was excited because this was my first time owning a smart ring, I was skeptical as well about using it because one of the important aspects for me was to check notifications, which I would not be able to do on a smart ring.

This is because most of the smart rings don't come with a display.

How does it feel to use a smart ring?

Using a smart ring is one of the most aesthetic feelings in the tech world. This is because it is part of your accessory, and also very insightful if you have the correct size.

When I had purchased the smart ring, I read several negative comments like the boat app is bad and that smart rings are worthless, but below are a few things that I felt after receiving the Boat smart ring;

• Packaging: The Packaging of the Boat Smart ring is good. The box is black and has a chargeable case with a ring inside. We also get a USB-C charging cable along with the ring and the case.
• Ring: The ring itself is made up of stainless steel with transparent epoxy-based inside, which also shows all the sensors. I kind of like the look and feel of the smart ring.

Is it worth buying a smart ring?

I was a big smart watch fan, until I started using a smart ring, and below are the reasons why you should also buy a smart ring;

1. Mental Peace: When I was using a smart watch, at that time I always used to think that I needed to keep it connected to my mobile phone, as I would not get notifications if the Bluetooth connection was interrupted.
   
   Because of this, I used to check in between if the watch is connected to the mobile or not, and also used to keep the smart watch app open in the background. Even if one notification was missed, I used to spend hours testing the connection and even pairing it again.
   
   But in case of smart rings, I don't expect it to be connected to the mobile every time, so I don't care if Bluetooth is on or not. This saves my phone battery as well as gives me mental peace because I can access to same or even more accurate health data in the mobile app when I want to check it, and till then I keep the phone separate. I don't carry the phone with me everywhere.
    
2. Battery: This can be one of the other reasons why the stress levels of people using a smart ring will be less than people who use a smart watch. This is because the smart ring for me is still 100% charged even after a full day of usage. 
    
3. Accuracy: I feel that smart rings are more accurate than smart watches, especially while tracking sleep. No watch was able to accurately track my sleep, but this smart ring had done it flawlessly, even checking my afternoon 20-minute naps. 

So, as per my advice, you should go for a smart ring. It gives you all the required health parameters for tracking, and you are able to focus on your work without any notification distractions. Plus, all smart watches look kind of the same, so you can ditch a smart watch and wear a smart ring instead, and also flaunt your new mechanical chronograph. This gives you more flexibility in choosing your accessories as well.

Note: I have observed that Boat Smart Ring works best with QRing on an iPhone. I tried connecting it with the Boat Crest app, but it took ages, while binding my ring with QRing was smooth and flawless. So if you have bought one, try using the QRing app instead of Boat Crest, and you will have a better experience altogether.
