Trips from one state to another has never been exciting as the trip from Hyderabad to Nagpur. Check out the full Article to know how this 500+ km trip brings new experiences.

Hyderabad to Nagpur is around 535 km with several different terrains in between. Usually one can complete this stretch within 9 hours, but if you are generous in taking breaks in between, the same can reach to 10 or 11-hour drive on NH44.

NH44 is also known as Srinagar-Kanyakumari Road and is one of the best roads that I have witnessed across India.

Although there are a few patches nearby to Maharashtra Border that need attention, still overall road from Hyderabad to Nagpur is quite amazing.

When traveling from Hyderabad to Nagpur, I prefer leaving early in the morning at around 4:30 AM or 5 AM, that helps me cover the initial few stints quite fast, because I don't get any city traffic from Hyderabad, and on ORR as well, I can cover the initial 50 km or so stretch quite fast.

This is also because the ORR road seams to take us from around Hyderabad and connects to the NH44, which is why we get an open 4-lane road that could be used to drive to speeds of around 120 km per hour.

Although I prefer speeds around 80 to 100 kmph which seems reasonable to me while traveling and also helps me focus properly on road.

Also, I usually prefer to take SUV for this stretch because on some patches, we really need a good suspension to help us glide over the roughness of road.

When we cross the ORR road, we get to see several dhabas in vicinity of Hyderabad which we can use to have a tea or some light breakfast, as this will give us a boost or you may feel a bit drowzy if you haven't eaten anything since morning. This happens because to leave at 4:30 or 5 in the morning, you will have to wake up at least by 3 AM.

So after having some light breakfast and tea, you can start driving.

Now try to understand that driving from Hyderabad to Nagpur is a straight line drive with very less turns, so you will have to maintain your focus while also ensuring that you reach your destination within the time frame because any trip which is too much into straight lines causes the driver to sleep or lose focus, which is obviously not good.

For this I would suggest to listen to good songs, or the songs that you like and take breaks when you feel sleepy. It is never a good idea to drive while also having a feeling to sleep.

If you have friends with you, then it is even more fun because this road also gives you views of several scenic farms and small mountain areas that is home to several wildlife animals. If you are lucky, you can also witness wild animals crossing on roads.

When you cross telangana, at the far end you even see a village where petrol and diesel is still sold in empty water bottles. For a 100 rupees you can but one litre petrol, and people do purchase that in those villages because obviously the connectivity of petrol pumps might not be too near.

But as you travel on NH44, you will find sufficient petrol pumps for yourself, so no need to worry. My rule of thumb is to refill my tank when my DTE (Distance to Empty) shows around 250 or less range. This helps me plan early and also to find the nearest petrol pump and hence I don't lose on much fuel while traveling.

I have also noticed one thang that people that link near by to these highways are always heavy drivers, because they drive on a regular basis on these highways, and I have seen several people driving wrong.

It takes around 4 or 4.5 hours to cross Adilabad, and once you have crossed it, it is then just a talk of another 4 hours that you will reach Nagpur.

Remember that once you have crossed the Maharashtra Border, there are some rough patches so your car or SUV may take some jumps, so keep in mind to slow down your vehicle a bit for around 50 or 60 km.

When you reach Nagpur, then you should see good roads again, that will make your journey better.

Plus, when you are driving from Hyderabad to Nagpur, you not only see the language change from Telugu to Marathi, but also you are able to see changes in the food preparation, so this becomes one of the best trips to have a best of both the world. One in Hyderabad and other nearby to Nagpur.

Our trip usually has around 5 stops, and these stops may vary from 15 minutes to 1 hour depending upon what we want to do. And our last stop is usually in Jaam which is not more than 60 km from Nagpur and has good restaurants and restrooms for your family to take some rest and refreshment.

Once you have taken this stop, you can easily reach Nagpur in around an hour.
