For several months, I was thinking of buying an automatic watch, and the Alba watch was ticking all the correct boxes for me. So, I placed an order on Amazon to check how good this watch actually is.
To my surprise, Alba DIver was available for same-day delivery, and after waiting for a long day, I got my watch.
The packaging of the watch was good. Although it is a simple cardboard, but look wise it looked good, and the watch was placed on a small cushion.
Having said that, the watch itself was covered with a lot of plastic, which ensures that it doesn't get scratched or stained while in transit. I removed the plastic that covered the whole body, and it was a satisfying feeling to do so.
At first glance, Alba Diver is stunning with a Pepsi Bezel and Day-Date functionality. It has a beautiful stainless steel bracelet, which is brushed and not polished, which I like, but I have read online reviews that say that some people have received their Alba Diver with a polished bracelet, which, in my opinion, doesn't look that good.
Now I am not going to get into full details as you can find them on Amazon as well, but here are a few features that I thought would be great to know before buying this watch;
I also own some expensive watches and have seen accuracy like zero seconds' fluctuations in automatic watches, and Alba was kind of like this for 3 weeks.
Then I observed a one-minute shortage in time in the Alba watch. Although this is not much, and can be adjusted quickly. Also, it has mineral crystal glass, which makes it durable, but it is not that scratch-proof. Still, I haven't seen any major scratches so far.
In my opinion, and after approximately a month of experience, I have observed that Alba watches are good. I mean, there are a lot of fake automatic watches out there, which usually break within a few months or even sometimes days.
As a watch enthusiast, you should always buy genuine watches, and Alba is a sub-brand of Seiko, which makes it great.
If you are a watch lover and grow your collection, or even if you want a daily wear watch, I believe Alba Diver is one of the best bets.
The only downside is that it doesn't have a manual winding feature, because of which, you will have to wear it kind of daily to ensure it keeps ticking. But it also comes with a 40-hour reserve, which is good, because sometimes you also want to wear your more expensive dress watches, which can be done easily.
