Ingredients
1 Cup Black Turtle Beans - Washed and Drained thoroughly, and then soaked in water for at least 6 to 8 Hours. You can keep it soaked overnight as well.
2 to 3 Medium Turnips - Washed, Peeled, and Cut in Dices
Spices
1 Black Cardamom - Crushed
1 Cinnamon Stick
1 to 2 Teaspoons Fennel (Saunf) Powder
1 Teaspoon Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
Salt - As Per Taste
Mustard Oil
Hing
Shahi Jeera
Clove
Sonth (Ginger) Powder
Procedure
Prepare Warimoth (Black Turtle Beans)
1. Drain the soaked warimoth and then rinse it in fresh water.
2. Place in a wide thick-bottomed pan or pressure cooker.
3. Add washed dal in a pressure cooker.
4. Let it cook for 5 to 6 Whistles on Big Flame.
5. Simmer it for 20 to 30 minutes, and let it cool down.
6. In another pan, add Mustard Oil, Hing, Black Cardamom, Clove, Shahi Jeera, Cinnamon Stick, and Turnips.
7. Let it cook for some time and then add Kashmiri Red Chili Powder, Sounf Powder, Sonth Powder, Clove, and Salt as per taste.
8. After cooking for 10 minutes, add cooked dal into the pan and let it boil for 10 to 15 minutes. Author: Mithlesh
